She'd been told to expect something unusual in the post. She was absolutely delighted with her board and initially said it was too lovely to use.

Today was the first opportunity I've had to call, and there it was proudly sat on the kitchen counter. Stephen, her other half makes his own bread, and I'm thrilled to report that he's using it to cut his loaves.

They are such a difficult couple to buy for and I can honestly say they were genuinely chuffed (a true Yorkshire word) and surprised at this unique present.

God knows what we're going to get them for Christmas!
